My own agent
Being my own agent during a career of more than 30 years, I’d like to introduce you to some of my activities.
The most recent project combines Beethoven and Lachenmann (see also text ‘ascolta’ here)
Connect
From the beginning it was essential for me to connect old(er) and new(er) music. That resulted often in ritual-like recitals – for example the two recordings below : a Proustian voyage along the Preludes of Chopin and Debussy and an imaginary dialogue between two Slavic masters
Piano’s
I played a lot on historical pianos as well – in the Chopin/Debussy recording you hear an Erard from 1894. In the recording below a Bechstein 1860, a Streicher 1876 and a Steinway 1975.
Two of my ‘heroes’ were and are still Nikolaus Harnoncourt (see annex) and György Ligeti (see annex). I play all works by Ligeti regularly. Another beacon is Luigi Nono – I am regularly invited by Serena and Nuria Nono during the Nono festivals (on which occasion I played an in memoriam Pollini concert in 2024)
I worked indeed closely with composers like Kurtag, Holliger, Lachenmann

A recent project (still going on) is a collaboration with the vocal ensemble Graindelavoix (Björn Schmelzer) in which we combine the Messe de Notre Dame by Machaut with Ligeti, Kurtag and Bach (Ciaconna – sung and played…)
