Riesling Kirschgarten 2020 La Mai Wines Seven hectares between Vingrau andDennis Wolf came back to the family winery at Grosskarlbach in 2018 and turned it biodynamic almost immediately, earning Demeter certification by 2021. He works fourteen hectares across Grosskarlbach and Laumersheim, and the Kirschgarten is the site that matters most: a thin skin of loess and clay over massive limestone, more than half of it active lime, which is exactly what gives this Riesling its spine. The winemaking is deliberately spare. Eight
